Kenyon Regular Decision 2022

waitlisted but don’t even care hahha
weird though because I had an above average SAT and a good GPA (1440 SAT, 3.85 UW)

Accepted!

Waitlisted 4.0 gpa 30 act ranked 1st in class

to those rejected/waitlisted: my heart goes out to you. something tells me kenyon received a jump in applications this year (since they fell last year) and are waitlisting a bit more people because they’re not sure what their yield will look like.

to those accepted: congratulations! kenyon would have been a tippy-top choice for me had i been rejected by grinnell ED2, so i’ve been keeping up with this thread to see who ends up here. kenyon’s a very special place with a beautiful campus.

Waitlisted: 31 ACT 5.0 W GPA
Kinda surprised since I showed more interest in Kenyon than other schools, but I’m not that heartbroken because I got into another school that I would probably be happier at.

congratulations to everyone who got in! i can only imagine how happy & proud you all must be feeling right now! i still have no change on my portal and no email from admissions! is anyone else facing this issue?

Accepted without merit. Pretty heartbroken for my daughter—it is too expensive for her to attend. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted. Kenyon is truly a magical place.

@filmstudent2021 same issue here! We keep looking for update but to no avail!

@natimom so relieved to know you’re in the same boat! i guess i’ll email the admissions office tomorrow if the problem persists! best of luck to you

@filmstudent2021 Did you check your email?

@freekong12 yep! i’ve been checking it religiously for the last hour! :frowning:

Search for the word status and see if that works.

Or the word update.

@Anxiousdad53 thank you! i did try doing that, but, i guess my portal just hasn’t been updated! i’ll just have to wait :frowning:

D got in. 10k Kenyon Promise scholar

Accepted!!! 1560 SAT, 95/100 school grades, lots of great leadership activities. International student, received great aid. Really happy, but I think I’ll be going to Grinnell or Colgate!

accepted w/ $10,000 per year

GPA: 3.83 W and around 3.74 UW
SAT: 1430 / 690 (reading) + 740 (math)

D was accepted! This was a nice surprise after she was rejected at Swarthmore and wait-listed at Colgate. She has other good options, but so far Kenyon is the only “top-tier” school to accept her (still waiting on some others). Stats are 3.6 UW/3.8 Weighted; 1420 SAT; 32 ACT. She’s an extremely talented singer and applied for a music scholarship, so that may have helped. We also had a great visit last summer and she wrote an excellent “Why Kenyon” essay on the ways in which her visit to Kenyon surpassed other visits (primarily in the number of students on campus doing research). Her grades suffered because of two major accidents (concussion junior year and surgery senior year), so we didn’t know which colleges would look deeper and which ones would just reject her outright because of the low grades. Her status page says nothing about financial aid, and I’ve clicked everywhere, which seems strange given that others were given that information. Everywhere else has given her a nice combination of merit and need-based aid, so I’m sure they will give her something – perhaps the fin aid part isn’t updated yet. Or perhaps she is getting the music scholarship and will hear from the music department tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!

international student asking for full ride got waitlisted, this is my forth wait list. lol

Congratulations to all who got in/were waitlisted :-). I got in as well, but it’s sooo expensive :,(. I was named a Kenyon Promise Scholar (10K a year) but it is still too much to pay for. I am leaving my stats below to help future candidates.

34 ACT (35 superscored); 780 SAT II Bio, 730 SAT II Math 2 (so bad; not even sure why I sent it). International applicant (Brazilian living in Switzerland). Intended major: neuroscience. No research experience.
Extracurriculars: Playing with chidren at the regufee center and teaching them math, chair of environment commitee a Model UN, learning French outside of school, some educational/volunteer trips, occasional writer for school’s newsletter… I think these were the most relevant
Interest: I had a Skype interview with a senior student (there was no one in my area), which I think went okay but not wonderfully. The interviewer was very nice, though. I never got the chance to visit. I subscribed to the mailing list a couple of days ago lol.

Kenyon looks like a wonderful place and I wish the class of 2022 all the best!
For those who were rejected, remember that there are many great schools in the US and you will be in the place you need to be next fall. I promise.
