I am planning to attend Kenyon Session II and am very excited! Maybe we should start a facebook group for those that are going.

I just wanted to make a comment about the 300 word essay on the Kenyon application. I have seen posts on other threads questioning how good the program could possibly be if it only requires a 300 word personal statement. Writers have so much to say, and often don’t like to be cut off. My English teacher is very familiar with the program. She told me that being able to make a concise but meaningful statement can be challenging. Revising and editing is a crucial part of good writing. She said that the administrators of the program know exactly what they’re doing and know what they are looking for when they request this on the application. She highly recommends this program as one of the best our country has to offer. I was reading the threads from years gone by, and this was brought up several times so I just wanted to address it.
@oak2maple @itsjustmyfuture @katiekat1984 is anyone willing to exchange the 300 word essays with me? i think it’s so incredible how differently writers can capture ideas in so few words and im really interested in our reasons for writing pm me!
