I'll be living in Clara Dickson in the fall, and I was wondering if Keurig coffee machines were allowed/ worked in the dorm. As a caffeine addict, this is VERY high priority. Thank you!

Wondering same thing?

@chloechs, This is what housing website said:

"•appliances not controlled by thermostats – for example, immersion coils (thermostatically controlled appliances are permitted – like popcorn poppers, coffee pots, automatic toasters – but must be operated in your building’s kitchen) "

-But that’s not really specific, is Keurig really considered a “coffee pot” machine ???

-I would say bring it anyway. I just bought one for the same reason. If anyone ever said anything, then just use it in the kitchen.

Anyone else know for sure???

My kid had one in her room. She also lived in Dickson.

I lived in Donlon, you’re not allowed to bring one but people do it and then hide it when the fire inspector comes twice a year. The only problem is that it blows the fuse unless you turn off everything else in the room

I had one in my room, never blew a fuse, and never had to hide it

I just got back from Cornell summer college and I brought one and was in Risley

My daughter is bringing one. She will be at Dickson as well.

The policy at most schools is no hot-plate type coffee makers except in kitchens, but k-cup coffee makers are usually allowed in rooms. That’s the policy at Columbia and at some of the schools around me.
