Ok so I took the SAT last week, and i'm taking the ACT in June.

I consider myself good at taking standardized tests in general, and I liked the SAT, but am nervous about the ACT. Many people I've talked to, scoring extremely high on the SAT, said they hated the ACT (1530SAT and only 31 ACT, for example)

Many people complained that they ran out of time, etc...

Anyways, what are the key differences between the tests? And which book should I get, being that I have about 3/4 weeks to prepare?

i hate the hell out of the act. the act is strict on time and it's all about speed. the questions are easier but there are a lot of them and the curve is harsh. i really dont like the science reasoning section. the act also is big on reading. the sat is better, although the new one is worse for me than the old. the sat is more for people who are good at math and that are sharp minded and good at problem solving. you might as well take the act because you don't have to submit every score you get.

What if I bomb the ACT and score high on the SAT? Can I just say I didn't take it?

My school will probably put it on my transcript without my wanting to, thouhg, right? Since I made the mistake of putting my school on the registration?

I found the harsh curve was worse than the time factor (but then again, I'm a speed demon in standardized tests).

Check with your school if they can not put it on the transcript. In my school, they put these stickers onto a separate sheet of paper. If you have something similar, see if they can put a blank sticker on a copy and recopy or something like that.

Hey, I'm taking the ACT next fall cause my Verbal on SAT was bad (or just not as good as the other two), will it be easier to get a better verbal score on the ACT?

luckily my school recently does not put act scores on transcript. i would be so bloody ****ed if they did. my school is in illinois, act paradise.
