Well, when I went to the miss hall’s open house i spent some time in the dorms. I traveled from room to room hanging out with the girls, and in one room a girl pulled out a triple chocolate cake. we devoured it.
they told me that something this chocolately sweet is rare, and it was sent to a girl for her birthday.
“THIS is the kind of thing your really gonna want to get in the mail” one girl said. some decent sweets. (apparently the dining hall food is all healthy and you only get small brownies or something for desert).
I have a MAJOR sweet tooth, so i’ll be asking for sweets!!!

Peeps can also double as inspiration for your budding artist:
[Peep Show - washingtonpost.com](http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/gallery/2007/04/05/GA2007040501052.html)

And for the true gourmet - Peeps Brulee - although I wouldn’t recommend an open flame in a dorm room!

I love the peep show Creative! Thanks so much for sharing!

A new hat. Hats are my comfort things. Everywhere i go i wear some kind of hat. A nice bears hat would be nice.

Hint Anybody going to Andover better have a hat ready for me.

Linda S – There is something worse than fried Twinkies. Try a fried Mars bar (aka Milky Way in the US) [Deep-fried Mars Bar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Deep-fried Mars bar - Wikipedia) . I was in Edinburgh Scotland some years ago, and was very surprised by what they deep fry. You name it & they will deep fry it! The fried Mars bar is a specialty. Sorry for going off-topic, but I had to add to the ick factor.

Look at this – the deep fried Twinkie creation is attributed to Brooklyn [Deep-fried Twinkie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Twinkie - Wikipedia)

Well, I will plug NMH once more…they have their own bakery and make all of their breads, desserts, etc. from scratch. My son had scraped knuckles from grating lemon rind for a lemon cake and he tells me the chocolate-cheesecake cupcakes are to die for. Real maple syrup, too!

Re: Girl Scout Cookies. Sometimes the teachers/staff have children who sell the cookies. I’m presently hoarding Thin Mints in a very safe place…

I am going to be looking for chocolate cheesecake cupcakes during revisit day!!!

stef…I have a recipe which is a chocolate cupcake with a cream cheese/choc. chip filling; the ones at the school are a full-sized chocolate cheesecake cupcake…so, basically, your own “mini cheesecake”. Very delicious…and filling. I hope they make them for your re-visit day…is it Friday?

I want keylyme to come live at my house when S leaves! We’ll have an extra bedroom and she can bake all day!

I’m having trouble thinking up a Yankees-friendly response to you, BrooklynGuy. Seriously, pinstripes make me nauseous. I just can’t rise above it. You seem like such a nice guy. Why can’t you be a Mets fan instead! :)

Ha Ha, this Friday, after re-visit, we are going to Yankee game !
We have the season tickets !
I Hope there is no traffic, from CT to Yankee stadium, we only have 2.5 hours.

How about a box of Crispy Creme donuts?

Well, I also do root for the Mets. But, my grandfathers were Yankees fans, so I think it was ingrained in me early.

Now, back to the topic thread: For care packages, some students might like you to get them a magazine subscription. Baseballmom, perhaps your family might want to send your S/D Yankees Monthly?
Or, the Red Sox equivalent, perhaps?

As for fried candy bars, of course we have those here in Brooklyn.

[The Chipshop](http://www.chipshopnyc.com/)

Well, by way of an English fish & chip shop, but that is a small detail. But, I don’t think it would be easy to send fried candy bars in a care package. And, I am sure that deep fryers are not allowed in dorms…talk about a fire hazard!

FRIED candy bars!
I want one!
Wow, and we’re stuck with fried Ice Cream, and pickles

I wish I had known about NMH before I had started my boarding school search. I have read a lot about it on this site and it fantastic. Maybe my younger brother will apply, except that I’m worried it’s going to be even harder to get in. AND they have great baked goods? Do they still take late applications??

At [Boarding School Review - College-Prep & Jr. Boarding Schools](http://www.boardingschoolreview.com), it’s rolling admission, but CALL THEM !

Obama08- Yes, my d adores the cookies she gets in Blake. They nuke 'em for a few seconds before serving. That shows up on her account more often than any other item.

NMH is on a rolling admission schedule. They’ll still look at applications and do phone interviews if nec. They keep a few slots open for this very reason.

Don’t you easterners know about Sprinkles? It’s only the best cupcake company in the world! I guess us Californians are the only ones who get to enjoy this special treat. When I get to bs I’ll have my mom send some, they are the BEST.
[::: Sprinkles Cupcakes :::](http://www.sprinklescupcakes.com/) <------- be prepared to salivate

California is kind of like a mini-country on its own. Did you notice how everything in California sounds like gibberish outside of it to anyone else? Even people who love every single thing about California don’t understand it if they don’t live there LOL I know a lot of states are like that, but California’s also GEOGRAPHICALLY potential to be its own country. Just draw a line and call it Pais de Californianos XD (country of californians, literal translation not sure if that’s as casual as i hoped it’d sound)

yeup I’m Korean ickles. Not hard to guess if you read about 1 out of the 3 posts I make. It’s usually mentioned in context somewhere XD
