@calmom As I recall, the kids kept asking what our income was as they filed out applications, so it seems like colleges might have a way of finding out other than attempting an SAT/income correlation. That could lead to some very inconvenient surprises.
Yes, my son’s are bad…less than 1500 all 3 tests. Was there something specific you wanted to know?
This wouldn’t work for public magnet HS like the one I attended which ends up selecting students with high academic aptitude, who test well, and who come from low-lower-middle income families.
In fact, many of the top quarter students in my graduating class who were admitted to elite universities, including HYPSMCC were from low income parents and impressively juggled long part-time jobs as waiters, ice cream/hot dog vendors, and various other retail/service sector jobs to support the family.
Very impressive and was an honor to have attended a HS with so many classmates like that.
