Kill my ipod

I have an Ipod which is the 4G, the batter sucks and is will last 2.5 hrs at a low volume, but apple says this is stil considered good performance. The thing is that the Ipod cant even last me my morning jog.

I want to know how to kill my ipod, so that It can be repaired or replaced with a refurbished unit. I dont think I should have to pay extra for a ipod battery when this one sucks.

so any help on killing the ipod would be appreaciated.

drop it repeatedly on some cement, or drop it in a pool and leave it there for a few hours. but how come they give you a refurbished unit, is it cuz of the warranty?

this is why creative zen overpowers, especially about that retarded battery issue . .. what kinda technology doesn't let you change its own battery . . now you have to resort to this and lose all of your songs!

Replace the battery by yourself.

http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ipod/batteryreplacement/

Save you on the aspect if they decide not to accept your Ipod.

yeah but that costs money. which i should not have to pay.

the zen micro rules

when the battery dies in two years, i'll simply buy another one at any electronics store for 30 bucks. woot.

apple is way expensive.

in 2 years, it'll probably come free with the player itself. I got a free replacement battery when i bought it from the zen site, it was some type of promotion.
10/10 for creative zen.

Lithium Ion batterries start to lose capacity over time. It's just a fact of life. But you can't beat them when it comes to efficiency and rechargability. That's why Apple uses them.
If you want it changed, you're going to need to get the battery replaced or replace it yourself. Apple isn't going to cover you for your product aging like it's expected to. I wish Samsung would replace my phone seeing as how the battery is drying up on me.

you jog for more than 2.5 hrs?

you should check the warranty before you "kill" it. a lot of times companies have standards before they'll let you use your warranty. usually if the product is damaged because you did something, they won't replace it. like if water gets into it, or you dropped it one too many times.

maybe he raises the volume so it lasts less...

oh...yeah....if you drop it while it is playing it'll break

i wouldnt drop it (say on the cement) or purposefully get it wet (by dropping it in a pool for example) because i guarantee they will say that the waranty does not cover such damage...
