So..
I've been stuck in the 630-650 range in CR for about 10 practice tests now...
My sentence completion is around 85-90% (i know i still need to improve that), but my passage based is stuck around at 80%
I really don't know how to mold my mind to interpret the passage the way college board sees it and it's been getting pretty frustrating now.

It would be awesome if you guys can give me some pointers as to how to bring my CR score to 700+

Thanks in advance!

For sentence completion, memorize the vocab. from DirectHits Vol 1&2 and maybe also Barron’s 2400 if you have time. I guarantee it will boost your sentence completion portion. For the passages, the important thing is to read only what is there; don’t try to “read between the lines” or overly interpret the text. When you do the MC questions, immediately eliminate any choices that are irrelevant and/or unsupported by the text. Also, make sure that you can find direct proof in the passage for the answer you do choose. Also, I recommend Rocketreview and Barron’s 2400 for CR-lots of great tips and strategies for all 3 sections.

Alrighty then
I’ll give that a try
thanks!

Have you read Silverturtle’s Guide on the SAT Preparation Forum? It is at the top of the page and should be very helpful. There also some other threads at the top of the page that you may find helpful.

Practice the vocabulary. You would see that some words come in the SAT quite often. Also, since you are having problems getting more than 80% on passages, I would suggest read about certain topics, based on which they usually give the passages. For instance, in SAT there are lot of passages about American literature, feminism, idealism, political science, behaviorism etc. If you read about them, you will see its easier to solve questions.
