By Biology, do you include BME?

And anyways, where did you get this info?

I just gave you a profile of a "typical" JHU reject. It is true that likely Bio and BME majors are most represented in the applicant pool- and therefore, are admitted at the smallest rate. However, many Bio majors with amazing stats and great ECs do get in RD!

But if you apply with BME, you have a second choice major, which they let you into if they don't accept you into BME.

Even if you initially enroll in JHU's BME program, you can decide to major in anything in Arts & Sciences or Engineering if you later decide BME is not for you.

If you don't make JHU's BME program, but are admitted to JHU, you can major in anthing you want (other than BME)... If you write on your application that you're interested in another area besides BME (2nd choice) that is only a possible major and you're not bound to it...

But most will put a second major, incase they are not accepted... as I did. I put my second choice as Economics.

Hopkins may admit you if they feel that you are well rounded and really interested in Econ- besides BME. However, there are people applying to JHU as likely Econ majors who wouldn't ever consider BME or the natural sciences. Theses people may be favored over you... but it really depends on their stats, achievements and potential to contribute to campus life.
