Has anyone recieved a decision from Kinesiology? If so, was it on WA or in the mail? Admissions office has said 1) All decisions have now been made
2) Not all Kinesiology decisions will be posted on WA
3) Letters will be maild NEXT WEEK!
Does anyone know what's really going on here?

I'm a Kines applicant too. Nothing's in the mail, nothing's on WA, and I haven't gotten any indication that i'm getting a decision. I hope it's not next week. I hope to hear by Saturday. Or early on Monday, because i'm leaving for Indiana monday afternoon (12:00-1:00, when the mail comes). I think i'm going to wait for the mail, then if it doesn't come, leave for Bloomington.

dggirl -- What Kines. major are you interested in?

Didn't all the recruited athletes (those applying to Kines.) sign by Feb. 1st? No notification on deferral decisions and it's now 2-1/2 months later? It's such a small division compared to the other schools. Far fewer apps to process than LS&A so this extra delay is difficult to understand.

GBAMom - Are you still considering UM? I thought it was K-Zoo for your S, and he was committed there.

Yes, S. is committed to K, but he did make the effort to apply so we would like a final decision once and for all. Even if this didn't involve my S., I'm interested in seeing how this whole admissions process is handled, not only because I'm an alum but I also have a freshman D. coming up the ranks.

I'm also a Kinesiology applicant. It's Friday and still nothing new posted on WA =(

I know... still nothing, nothing on WA, nothing in the mail.

I checked my decision this morning.

We have carefully reviewed your application to the University of Michigan. At this time, we are unable to offer you a place in the term for which you have applied. Please know that this decision is the result of the competition for spaces rather than a reflection of your ability to succeed in college. It is possible that space may become available after the enrollment deposit deadline of May 1 has passed. If you choose, you may remain on our wait list for available spaces. You may accept or decline our offer to be placed on the wait list by clicking "Respond Now" to complete your decision. Please respond to our waitlist offer by May 15th.

When will we hear if we are accepted off the waitlist?

Could be as late as mid-june. The point of being waitlisted is so we can commit to other colleges. I'm not paying my deposit to a different school only to be given admission to UMich after the refund date has passed and have probably already been to orientation. Waitlisting is pointless, and expensive at that if you choose to back out and accept their offer for admission, if any are even given.

I still think it can't hurt to go on a waitlist. At least it gives you more options if you happen to be accepted off the waitlist. If you think it's a waste of money, then you can simply turn it down.
