kinesiology

I want to major or go into the field of kinesiology
So I was wondering if anyone knows which colleges are best for this major??

So far I heard of Arizona state and University of Florida.

i dont know much, but a friend of mine said that its more a field you should get a masters in. (dont quote me…)

She majored in dance as an undergrad, spend two/three years working at a sports clinic/taking the necessary general science classes at a JC and then went to UCSF. (technically her degree is going to be in physical therapy, but im not 100% on what the deal is)

also, kinesiology seems like a field that might lend itself to more of a certification program rather than a degree program, so look around at the various 2 year colleges rather than limit yourself to only 4 year institutions.

of course, i could totally be talking out my butt, so i duno.

last: Rice university has a Kinesiology department. I dont know if they’re any good, but i cant imagine rice having a terrible program in any regards.

[Kinesiology Receives No.1 Ranking - News](http://media.www.dailycampus.com/media/storage/paper340/news/2005/11/10/News/Kinesiology.Receives.No.1.Ranking-1053114.shtml)

says uconn and penn state tied for top spots, so i hope that helps. also, i dont know if kinesiology falls under a science (in the traditional sense, most people in this forum are physics, bio, and chem).

good luck to you.

edit: [Ranking of Kinesiology/Exercise Science Graduate Programs — PhDs.org Graduate School Guide](http://graduate-school.phds.org/rankings/kinesiology/rank?w25=2&w7=5&w26=2&w2=-4&w17=5&w3=4&w8=5&w1=5&w18=-2&w9=3&w24=-2&w10=3)

that should compare the various graduate schools based on what you find important (you may not care about diversity for example…) its for graduate programs, but it couldnt hurt to give it a look.
