I am confused. My friend told me that his sister is in King Edward Medical College. She just graduated from high school last year. DO YOU NEED AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE?! or is there just a combined program?
Well, how long is it (the medical school or the combined program if there is one)?

Obviously you don't know much about the Pakistani education system.

High school there is only till 10th grade. Their school system ends at the 10th grade and the 11th and 12th grades are FSC or what you may call an undergraduate degree.

So, after FSC you apply to medical colleges if that's the field you want to go in. You taker an entrance examination (which is very difficult by what I heard) and if you're one of the top socrers you get placed into King Edwards Med.

Was your friend's sister born in America? If so, why did she choose to go to King Edwards instead of completing med school here?

There is no combined med program but the regular program is 5 years.

Many people go to K.E. or Agha Khan because it takes a lot less time to get a degree in medicine. Completing a degree in 5 years is a great incentive as compared to spending 8 years in school to get the same thing. Also, people who come from K.E. and AKU do pretty well as doctors here, and usually clear the exams quite easily. I was considering Agha Khan, but I haven't got the money, and I don't really care about the 8 year thing. The College life here is priceless.

Definitely. I had no idea about the education there. Well, that girl was born here and went to high school here in America. She scored something like a 1320-1370 on her SAT with a GPA of about 93 or 94/100. She then moved back there for medical school, I am assuming with some of her other family.
