11 SUNY schools on the top 100!! More than any other state on the list. I think there is something to be said for that.

I agree, Momof3! Thanks to the dedication of SUNY faculties and students they’re a success despite our state government’s best efforts, lol!

It means, in part, that SUNY schools are incredibly cheap in comparison to public colleges and universities in most other states. This is particularly true for OOS students. The tuition at Binghamton and Geneseo for OOS students is $12,870 per year, compared to $26,020 at Penn State, $22,240 at Uiversity of Delaware and $21,674 at The College of New Jersey.

When you underprice yourself by that much you are going to look like a real bargain in comaprison to your peers.

Thanks for posting this. My D would love to go to UMD or UDel, but if she gets into Binghamton, that would be hard to turn down. It’s such a great school. Wish it wasn’t in the middle of nowhere and was more of a rah rah type school (having gone to school in the Big Ten myself). Would be an easier sell!

LINYMOM - that is exactly why I chose Geneseo. It is such a great school and it was hard to turn down the price tag. I knew I wanted to attend graduate school so it just made sense. The money I saved from Geneseo was used to attend NYU for graduate school.

Good luck to your daughter!!!
