I was reading about the residence halls and I read that some of them have kitchenettes. I was wondering if anyone knew what the kitchenette has, like a stove, microwave perhaps? I’m going to be staying at the Segundo “High Rises”, so if anyone has any firsthand knowledge, that would be great! Thanks :)

The Segundo high-rises have a microwave, electric stove, refrigerator (DON'T USE THEM!! They're ancient), cupboard and sink. It's a very small room that's usually connected to the floor lounge. It's big enough for one person to use at a time, but from my experience they aren't usually busy.

Thanks a bunch, that was very helpful :)
I'll probably just get a fridge then and not the microwave if I can just use the microwave in the kitchen.

do any other dorm places have kitchenettes?

Very wise choice! That's the route my roommate and I went. The microwave in the kitchen is awesome and pretty new. You'll love having a fridge in your room as well!

Just about every dorm has at least one kitchen, but not all. For example, Segundo North only has one kitchen for all three buildings (The only kitchen is in Thompson Hall, where Alder & Miller residents have to walk there to use it). Tercero Thille/Pierce/Laben/Kearney all have one kitchen on the first floor.
