Know a professor

If a professor from one of the top colleges is my parent's friend. Do you think that might help my admission to that college?

If he/she knows the quality of your scholarship as a HS student (have you worked for him/her? taken his /her class?), then perhaps. If "behind the scenes" favors and deals are a part of that school's modus operandii and the prof is willing to go to bat for you as a sheer favor to your parents, then yes. If you can learn from that prof why the school would really fit you (if it does) and you're able to convey that on your application, then yes.

Will it make up for lackluster transcripts and scores. Highly unlikely.

Otherwise, it probably won't alter your chances a single bit.

prolly not too much. Well in my case, there are a few teachers in my school who either went to ivies or tops etc, or used to teach there, so i might try to recs from them.who knows?
