know plant hormones for SAT II Bio?

auxins, gibberellins, etc...

General idea. You'll usually only see auxin or something.

well on the May SAT II bio, there was a set of questions that went with this experiment that dealt with auxins (I think). Know them in general, although if you have time, knowing them completely is even better.

And by the way, if you get a question on the AP BIO exam/ SAT II that gives you a list of plant hormones, the answer is almost always 'auxins'.

"And by the way, if you get a question on the AP BIO exam/ SAT II that gives you a list of plant hormones, the answer is almost always 'auxins'."
yea pretty much i agree, Auxin is like the master of hormones it does pretty much everything and like 90% of the hormone questions usually have that answerr, the other 9% is if the question asks about "ripining" then the answer would be Ethynle (SP).....and the other 1% is the one thatnever happens

the ethenyl (sp) hormone is for aging because there is an "e" in the front like "elder". thats how i remember it!

you probably need to know all of the "tropisms" like geotropism, thigmotropism, phototropism and what it means for them to be positive/negative

Does GeoTropism= Gravitropism?

"GeoTropism= Gravitropism?"
yea if thats wat u wanna call it, but its known as geotropsim
(Theres also , Hydrotropism,Thigmotropsim, and phototropsim)

Thanks. 1o charzzz

np....let me know if u need anything else (with bio) PM me or something...

what the heck is ethenyl
ethanol is alcohol made anaerobically by yeast cells
ethylene is a plant hormone

what DOES it mean for the "tropisms" to be positive or negative? thanks

positive = Towards the Effect (Towards Light/Gravity/Water, Etc..)
Negative= Away from the effect ( Away from light, Water, Gravity,Etc..)

i believe that most of the time thought ,tropsims will be positive (not sure)

yeah, they're usually positive.

xylem, did you take the May SAT BIO? ahh, the results come out tomorrow!

good luck you guys

no i didnt take the SAT II (yet)..taking it in 4 days,...but why does everybody keep thinking that i did????

i guess the name xylem makes you seem like a veteran of biology

lol...yea plants' are my thing..lol (we ll at least structure)

definitely know tropisms
