Kohl's Kids Who Care

It says on their web site that winners will be released June 15th, but I wonder if that is only the national winners. Has anyone heard for the local/regional levels?

Nobody? Hmm...

At my D's baccalaureate (SP?) mass yesterday, one girl had won it as they announced current scholarships as well as awards.

I'm wondering about this scholarship too. From what the rules say the winners aren't even supposed announced until this month, so let's keep our fingers crossed. What was your volunteer project? I'm a mentor and I also created an organization which creates bracelets and donates them to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

sarbear, Your bracelet project sounds interesting. What do they look like, and do they sell them to raise funds?

Mine was a golf tournament fundraiser. Raised $11,000 for orphanages in China (my family adopted).

stamblirk41 & group

I couldn't help seeing this thread, we also were wondering about the same so I left you the link to see who did what at Kohl's Kids who care... btw my son is one of the Senior National Winners for 2006. As of this date, the link below will only show the regional winners.

His project, ongoing was to draft, administer and implementation of a Student Emergency Response Team or SERT, all students certified in on the spot emergency response to critical medical emergencies.
development and implementation of the Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) at Farmington High School.

The program one of the first of its kind, and one of only twenty in the country will serve as a model and working non profit organization for first response to medical emergencies in and around the schools and school events.

He had raised $500,000.00 in new equipment for it and brought on additional support from other sponsors and resources both medical and non-medical. The group had started over a year ago and has about 30 certified medical high school students, currently some are still training with groups as the Red Cross, Emergency EMS and the Heart Association to name a few.

He also had spoke with and recruted FEMA in Michigan, Fire Departments, Police, HomeLand Sec and many more people to come on board

The program will benifit many thousands of people and students and continue for years to come. This is just a fast look at one of the 2006 winners.
