Koplik Scholarship

What is the difference between the Koplik and the Adams scholarship? I have heard that the Koplik scholarship doesn't necessarily have to be used right away like the Adams. I don't remember the exact stipulations of it because when I was notified that I received it, I wasn't considering going to a state school. But now that I have applied to UMass as a transfer it interests me.

I know I asked this question on a different thread but I thought it made more sense to post it on a new thread.

The requirement to keep the Adams is lower, a 3.0 versus a 3.3. These are tuition waivers, so you use them to waive tuition and nothing else.

Also, keep in mind, at UMass tuition is only a small percentage of the actual costs, somethng like $1500. Fees are over 6K. In-state tuition, room, board, fees total up to about 20K.

The Adams scholarship was a PR ploy of former governor Romney.

the waivers are a S&T)& because it covers only a meager amount enough for maybe four years of textbooks. The rest are fees. Ridiculous.
