Korean studies and Screenwriting?

Hey! For a couple of years now I've been interested in Korean culture. Now my obsession has gone up a notch and I want be a screenwriter of Korean dramas. Har har har!

Yes...big dreams.

Anyways, does anyone know what colleges have both Asian Studies(Korean) & Screenwriting.

Thanks in advance. :D

you can just major in korean?

i think you’d need to actually move to korea and find connections there. plus, you have to be fluent in korean and know the culture very well. even with that, you’re competing with tons of other koreans to be a screenwriter. hmmm…

USC and Columbia?

Yeah, I know and I’m totally game for that. XD But first I have to learn the language/culture.

Koreanboi92: Yeah, by Korean studies I meant majoring the language. -_- My bad.

Japanmedlover: Thanks, I’ve looked at them. Their on the ‘dream list’. T_T

Anything else?

I believe 5 or 6 colleges in the US offers Korean as a major.
I believe UC Irvine and UCLA, University of Washington, BYU, The main one in hawaii, and Columbia.

Good Luck. One day when, I might just come across one of your works.lol.

Thanks! I sure hope so too. XD

[Welcome to UIC](오류(Error))

You take classes in English, at a Korean university. It’s MUCH easier to become fluent in a language in a country where it’s spoken than just by attending classes.

please tell me you’re not white.

UIc is hard to get in. But the idea of going abroad to Korea may not be such a bad idea.

you can also try UCI or UCLA because there are quite a few Korean people there. I heard UofW(Seattle) has quite a lot of Koreans.
