Oh I don't know where that is :S
I lived in Su Young Dong haha

ak901011:

I'm also a Korean from Vancouver.
I go to a public school in North Van and I'm doing Cornell ED.

hey buddies

I was born in CA, raised in NY, and moved to Seoul when I was 14 (I'm 17 now). I go to an international school.. my Korean sucks. It's good enough to get around and speak to my relatives (none of them speak English) and I don't have an accent anymore (lol thank god) but I'm definitely not fluent. It's kind of embarrassing... I've heard Korean my whole life, my parents speak to me in Korean (I respond in English), and I've lived in Korea for the past 3/4 years but I'm still not fluent!!

Oh well. Such is life.

By the way, someone here said their Korean name is Minjoo.. SO'S MINE!! Only I spell it Minju. And I go by my American name now.. hahha.

And someone else said they're from Jinhae. My 친 할먼니 and 할아버지 live there! I always have to go down for 추석 and stuff.. maybe one of these days I'll see you around=p

I'm applying to Yale EA.

I <3 Shinchon ;)

who's applying where???

which int'l school do you go to m_c? i used to go to TCIS taejon

Hi kids,
I'm a noobie CC'er, Hahhar (:
I was born in Kyung-gi-do, Korea.
I settled in California after moving to the U.S. about six years ago.
Did everyone apply EA/ED?
Gaaaah, I am so nervous and eh,
I don't know.
So, how competitive is it in Korean international schools?
Some of my friends go to the one in YeeHwa Yeoh Dae and bleh,
What do you guys do in Korea for EC?
I never thought I would compete against you guys in Korea... but I guess I am since I don't have a green card.

Allllrighty kiddos dittos.

dino...TCIS has an avg SAT of 1230. not uber competitive but the top 10 students out of the 75+ seniors go to some excellent schools. Minjok, daewon and SSH are korean schools (english medium) and have higher SAT avgs.

callthecops, define "excellent."

and i go to SFS :)

Acceptances: 1 MIT, 4 Cornell, 3 Duke etc. ]

btw you got some awesome SAT score m_c...good luck! I was in fact going to join SFS at the beginning of last year but chose TCIS (cuz i could graduate early). btw are u val or sal this year? What are the acceptences like from SFS? Btw we WILL beat you guys this year in soccer :p

Those are some awesome acceptances. Last year we had people accepted to Columbia, Duke, U Penn, JHU... the year before we also had Princeton, Stanford, Dartmouth, Brown.. but I don't think anyone from SFS has ever gotten into MIT. That's really impressive!

I'm not val or sal, haha. I wish =p

Yeah... good luck with that soccer thing. hahaha. :p

What is the average for Minjok, daewon, and SSH?

Interesting,

I feel like I am living in a different world when I talk to my friends in Korea.

The MIT acceptance wasnt too impressive though. She had an obscene amount of legacy to her credit. had both her grandparents working there, both parents attended, 3 siblings attended.

Princeton, dartmouth, stanford, brown!! WOW!!!! TCIS sent someone to stanford the year bfr last, which was the best acceptance. before that over a period of three years there was a harvard, yale, MIT and some others.

Minjok has something like 1400+ as the avg.

wow minjok's sat is high.
do korean international students have high verbal scores?

yeah i guess....

yo is 800 M 700 V 730 W high scores for a korean international?

that's higher than mine by 40 points.

yo "are" 800 M 700 V 730 W (sorry bout that)
also sat II: 750 Bio and 800 Math IIC....wut about that?

i got bio 760, korean 800, and planning on getting 750-800 iic.
i think urs are high enough.. well depending on which schools.
are you applying to HYPS?

are you gonna apply? where r u at?
