Anyways i just have a question. Are brown, duke, jhu needblind to canadian citizens?

I used to live in IL SAN toooo.
My grandma lives in Ho Soo Ma Eul, too (:

gg.

hahaha yeah im from Van.
hm. I m pretty sure that Brown and duke arent need-blind to Canadians, but i dunno about JHU. lol. AHH i'm such a procrastinator... I need to write ESSAYS!! F**... all my friends are goin to Korea this winter... and wut am I doing... *sigh

my cousin lives in umm toronto i think.. lol hang on i forget her name.. oh yeah it's On Hwa in korean. She's kinda like the same age as me i think.

whoooooaaaa.... on hwa eh? haha

btw, eth. are u applying w/o financial aid? do u think its better that way?

yes. I talked about it with my parents... and am applying w/o financial aid. Costly. but o well... I just wanna get in... meh I always have good ol' Queens, UBC, and McGill to bak me up...:p

how well do u think that'll help? I'm applying for no aid as well... well at least to Stanford, Brown, JHU, Duke, and Amherst. Do you the schools that say they are need blind would favour ppl who can pay full out?

most schools say they are need blind..."to American citizens or permanent residents" I checked some universities... and that's how they work I guess. I'm a Canadian...and until next year I guess... Korean. I don't think applying w/o aid would help your admission chance or nething, but I think applying /w financial aid wouldn't have a positive effect either.

i'm the only korean applying for financial aid :(

how are the colleges in Canada(Mcgill, UToronto, Queens)?
I'm thinking of applying there because it's cheap and easy to get in.

well... first off, they are called "universities" in Canada... chuckle Canadians seem to have a different definition for "colleges" and "universities"... colleges in canuck definition are... just local 2-year colleges that students who didn't get into universities go to.

neways... yeah those schools are great I guess... The thing with the Canadian schools is that they are easy to get into, but about half of the freshmen drop off after first year... -_-; well as long as you can keep up a decent GPA, Canadian schools are awesome too... lol to be honest, since i was preparing for american schools, I slacked off so much during canadian university prep sessions... but I do know for a fact that there are some AWESOME programs offered by some Canadian schools.;)

Yea canadian schools are really good.. the campus and etc..
btw applying to universities with and without financial aid does affect your chance in getting in..
It's the non-blind that doesn't matter.
I mean I would say that you will have like 30% more chance to get in without financial aid than applying for f.a.. i'm just roughly giving number here.

sl1201, you are not the only one.
And I'm don't really have great stats like most of ppl here. I worried lil bit.
(Only thing i can do is pray)

i'm applying to HYPM because they are need blind.
i'm not sure about my chances at duke, washu, cornell, stanford, jhu, and caltech because i need aid:(

Blah, I don't get any replies in the College Admission section so I'll try here.

My GC is gonna send out the recs and school report this week to Duke, JHU, Harvard, Princeton, and Amherst.... but I haven't sent in anything to these schools so they won't have a file for me. Will those recs and school reports be going to the garbage?? Should I go and grab them from my GC?? Cause I am gonna apply online to those schools and they specifically say that if I apply online they want everything online... which means I can't hand in the pre-application forms beforehand. What do I do~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

jaijai. similar situation here. But doesn't it take a week or two for those mails to get to the schools... while if you use online apps, the schools d/l the apps the day after or sumthing. hm. and by everything online I think they mean everything that can be done online to be sent online. I mean you can't really send rec letters and school reports online... right? I'm thinking of sending in the apps a week after my GC sends off those stuff... hopefully it'll work out alright.

Yeah... cause I got a bit scared, after I read that Stanford SPECIFICALLY wants form 1 (the pre-app) in before they get anything else. I haven't read anything like that on other college sites... so maybe I'm just being paranoid and I should go study for my philosophy final tormorrow.

Oh and eTH. your applying to Brown as well right? You know how they ask for that extra science recommendation if you want to get into the BSc program or PLME... What if I indicated BA and BSc... do I still need to get that form in?
And I even have a biology teacher doing one of my recs so..... hmmmmmm................ so many things are ambiguous

lol... wow. I was wondering about the exact same thing since I'm probably gonna pursue BSc. In fact, that's the only teacher rec form that I have NOT given to a teacher yet. Still not sure. I was thinking I'd give it to my AP calc teacher tom... and probably will.

Blahhhhhhhhh...... I'll call tormorrow and ask if really need to get it done...
