^ More than one person reads your app for that specific reason. Usually two will read it and if they disagree then a third adcom director will make the final say.

You do realize that “Asian” is a gigantic “race”?

Asians make up WELL OVER half the global population. Thus, Asians are a majority on this planet and so, saying that you hate Asians is tantamount to saying that you hate most of the human race. And, since you probably have similar hate for all other races apart from your own, we can conclude that you’re just writing nonsense and that little you say carries much value anyways.

How is that different from ordinary racism?

What if there was a cholera outbreak, and that one guy is the only person at the admissions office for that time period? You can never see these things coming and you have to be prepared for any eventuality, no matter how insane.

I read about Korean time zone cheating in the newspaper last spring. When I googled it, looking for the original source, I found an article about the same kind of cheating the year before too!!!

Not to malign Koreans, but cheating of all types happens on these tests. Taking ritalin and other drugs without a prescription, getting extra time when you don’t really need it, opening up your test booklets early…

Another reason to abolish the so-called standardized tests

Given alternative metrics’ greater lack of standardization, I don’t find this point a compelling reason to discontinue the use of standardized tests.

why you people are getting so sensitive by this kind of topics like countryism something, especially some certain groups, this is not funny at all.

^ People make bigger deal out this because Asians did it. Because people are already aware of their nature of competition, they feel safe to blame the asians and make generalizations about them. Pretty annoying.

Edit: If this was an act of europeans, people would just be like “wow sucks” and move on. However, because it was the asians, they wouldn’t let go of it and go on talking crap about the whole asian race.

When I took the SATs in my Taiwanese international school, they used to tell us that SATs in Taiwan had a different form than the US forms (like they do for AP exams). In retrospect, they probably didn’t want us to be helping our US friends : P

I guess we never bothered to check whether they were in fact different forms. I’ve always assumed so because it’s logical that something like this can happen? -_____- ETS should step up its game.

To blame the Asian race is ludicrous.

/thread.

Nonono, this is really ****up,this is country,no race, don’t attribute those Koreans in Korea to the Koreans or even all the asians in the U.S,it is just contemptible and non-sense beacuse they are in different countries.what are these idiots doing???

korean people cheat a lot, if you are asian live in asia, you will know they cheat a lot in many world wide sports game. and their judgement pretend not seeing that. but photos and videos proven it, they refuse to rejudge
I have seen many of those evidence myself, I can’t believe how rude korean is.

Japanese, cpthk?

@cpthk: i think you have no right to say that koreans cheat a lot(ima korean myself so it seems a bit offensive to me you to saying that korean cheating and bein rude). some many people tent to cheat and some not. it has nothing to do with nationality but your personality and conscience. Same thing for being rude. dont u think so?

I wander if these guys would get better SAT scores, if instead they had 3 more hours of sleep that night. I dont believe that they improved their scores significantly by cheating, but got in a lot of trouble. Serves them right, too.

i found a lot of errors in my reply so i writing it again
sorry
@cpthk: i think you have no right to say that koreans cheat a lot
some people tend to cheat and some not/ and that has nothing to do with nationality but your personality and conscience. Same thing for being rude.

Do you think this going to affect Koreans living in Korea applying to college this year? For ex. not getting recognition for SAT scores…etc.

^ Innocent until proven guilty.

ChongShu, Chinese are CLEAN?

wow I can’t believe you said such thing. The US media don’t report Chinese people cheating these days because it has always happened and that it is no longer a subject of interest.

and cpthk,

Korean athletes were statistically and widely proven to be the most gentle ones worldwide. They are the ones who always get injured by those dirty ones from other countries.
If you look at some others such as Americans and Brazilians (if you can remember the World Cups in the past) they not only cheat, but also are proud of doing so.

cheating to get ahead of people who work hard and do everything fairly… I bet the kids don’t even feel sorry they were cheating, just sorry they got caught. They’d probably do it again if they could. But it points out the flaws that must be adressed with these tests.
