Since when did a slice become $3.25? It was $2.25 I think from 99-02 and I went there maybe 2 years ago and it was $2.50 or $2.75 at most. Anyone know the price increase history?

Yeah, it went from 2.25 in 2002 to 2.75 in 2004 and now it’s 3.25.

every year i’ve been here it has gone up 25 cents.

2006 - 2.75
2007 - 3.00
2008 - 3.25

waiting for the price increase to 3.50 sometime this year.

Deflation, dude.

^^hehe.

Is it weird that I only remember them costing $2.75? I must have stopped going there after sophomore year.

Or maybe I was too drunk to remember prices after 2006…

At $3.25, it’s not such an amazing deal. A very filling “meal” (two slices) can be had for a bit cheaper than $6.50 at various places in the city.

Anyone want to guess how many calories and fat grams are in a Koronet slice? I’d say 800 cals / 15 grams of fat.

wait you mean 800 fat calories?

I’d go with 1200 calories total…2/3 of which are fat, haha.

I’ll believe it when I see it. McDonalds and other national chains may be able to consistently lower prices no matter where the market is going (see price of a big mac from 1997-2007) but I doubt we’ll see that in any of the campus staples (K-nets, M2M, HamDel, etc)

The best food deal on or near campus is M2M’s cheeseburger. It’s like $4, for an extra buck you get the best fries in morningside heights, and they use really good beef.

A close second is Hamdel’s cheeseburger which is like $3.

Maybe not lower prices across the board, but perhaps they’d offer more ‘specials.’

I meant 800 total calories… and 15 grams of fat. Most of it is going to be carbs, even though it seems 2/3 fat!

You can also get an order of fries for $2.00 now.

i think M2M is the best deal all around. their hot lunch special can’t be beat and the food is decent for the ~$4 you’re paying. their sandwiches and wraps are very decently priced and of course the cheeseburger is a great deal.

M2M’s fries can vary in quality. Overall I would agree that, at their best, M2M fries > HamDel fries.

Spicy Chicken wrap FTW tho. Seriously the best item on M2M’s menu. $5.75

Yo those M2M burgers were deadly. I would put avocados on them for an extra buck. but then again, I put avocados on everything, given a chance. And tobasco.

God, it’s a miracle I didn’t graduate morbidly obese. I feel slightly nauseous thinking about my college eating habits…

Btw, what’s up with that bank at 110th (TD?). It’s a monstrosity. How long has that been there for?

They can get a bit soggy if they sit in the tin too long…

That’s true of any fries, though. The only good time to eat them is within 10 minutes after they come out of the fryer - anything else and they either get hugely dry (if not wrapped up), or just soggy (if wrapped up).

As much as I hate to admit it, McDonald’s makes the best fries of the major chains, and even theirs have a half-life of 15-20 mins tops.

C02: no idea, but i think i know what you’re talking about. it’s hideous. I’ll let you know next week, when I’m skipping along the slushy, snow lined streets of the upper west side.

Denzera: fries are nasty, they clog your arteries. You gotta stop eating those :S

don’t proselytize about food. i’ll clog my arteries any which way i want. :P

so do half the things you crazy Indians eat. You think samosas are a health food?

At least McDonald’s isn’t going to charge you an arm and a leg for the use of their fry-o-lator.
