What do you think about Kranse Institute for SAT prep? The website and the video seems to be good, but there are no reviews on college confidential or Google search didn’t return any reviews. This person was featured on Shark Tank and other website / NBC channel…
The review course was called “2400 Expert” until recently changed after Shark Tank investment. Don’t have any experience with review courses, though. A friend used Ivy Bound (online, but they have in-person too) with success. No personal experience, though.
@PerfectScorer please don’t…
I am interested in some reviews and input as well. Can’t find very much on line. Wondering if the design has been modified to the new test?
OP, why not just be transparent and say you’re affiliated with Kranse Institute? Maybe the owner?
At least the owner of Prep Scholar admits he’s the owner. And he (or someone acting on his behalf) comes on CC offering tons of free advice and useful information. Whether people like or dislike his service, he does help others with that advice.
Kranse, if you’re looking for business, why not just offer as much free advice on this site as possible. You’ll get customers, some disgruntled, but many happy.
I have a question for you: Did you change the name from “2400 Expert” to “Kranse Institute” because the former name limited you to only SAT and because it’s no longer on a 2400 scale? With the new name, you’re no longer isolating yourself to just the SAT. Am I close?
Don’t recommend! Use Kahn or Princeton. This company advertises simple %100 money back no questions asked guarantee if your scores don’t improve. My child watched all the videos that she struggled with on prior sat,…it is NOT beneficial at all for the new SAT. They don’t stand by their product and the guarantee is a LIE. Waste of time and money! Wish we would’ve found this site before wasting $400.
I had a good experience guys. I felt the Kranse Insitute course did help me and it was pretty affordable. They even worked with me to get financial aid.
Not sure about Kranse.
Definitely not impressed when I see their click bait type fake ads
@Jamykr , you created an account this morning, found this obscure Blog that’s been buried since Sept 9, just to post your positive experience?
I tried to keep an open mind as I was reading your feedback, until you mentioned the financial aid.
I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say anything about financial aid when they use these programs.
Try again.
I saw the Shark Tank segment, and from what I could tell the creator’s only credentials were that he made a perfect score on the SAT. As any veteran teacher knows, doing something a singular way doesn’t translate into successful teaching. Plus, a person will never learn as much from a video as he or she will with a real person.
More astroturfing.
I thought the creator owns https://prepexpert.com/?
“In fact, I only scored around average on my first practice SAT. My 640-point improvement came through focused preparation.”
That’s on the website. That means he started with 1760 on the old SAT (2400 pt scale).
He did not score “around average”. 1760 was above average. 1500 was around average.
Slick marketing at work.
I reached out to the live chat support on their website and told them about my situation. They offered me 50% off of the program, and even gave me a free 7 day trial.
^What “situation”?
The situation is lil personal, but to let you know, I come from a poor family and therefore it wasn’t possible for me to enroll in their program. I asked if they could help me. They did took a look at my academics though, before helping me out.
@mmk2015 I understand his “Situation” completely. He’s been busted trying to Astroturf his company’s product, then he writes a second post touting how he (and we are to assume he alone) was given a free trial and a discounted rate.
Of course, I learned a long time ago that when a merchant discounts his wares or services by 50 percent, the product/service was overpriced from the start, and as a result there is a glut of inventory. Given that Kranse’s whole premise from its Shark Tank origins was promoting a now-defunct version of the SAT, a 50 percent discount is probably appropriate.
I do take a pride in that in our 18 years of business we have never once had to discount our tutoring services!
