<p>Firstly, kudos to the Whitman folks. Of the colleges my S has applied to, Whitman is the best at keeping the kids apprised of the status of their applications, especially what stuff is still outstanding.</p>
<p>The question is, are there any Chinese, or Filipino Eaterys near campus. That is comfort food for my S. I know there is a good Viet restaurant, but just wondering about the others</p>

<p>As far as Chinese, the Reid Campus Center which has a coffee house, outdoor program ect., also has a build a wok area. The emphasis changes every week, so it has different sauces, noodle and vegetable combos I believe, but I have eaten there twice, and they were both excellent, and always a large line of students and faculty. I also believe that students get flex dollars which can be used at the Reid center for the various grill, pizza, wok and coffee offerings.</p>

jk! The food at the Fire and Spice is good and you get a lot of options. I dont know about Chinese food though. I dont think we have Chinese restaurants anywhere near. I know of a Korean and a Thai place and both of them are good. But, unless you have a car, I am not sure if you be able to enjoy Chinese food.</p>
