Kyrgyzstan

I am international student currently attending to Seattle Central Community College. I ahev already finished my firs quarter. I am from Kyrgyzstan former Soviet Republic which situated in central asia. I speak 5 languages (FLUENTLY):Russian, Englis, Turkish, Kyrgyz, Uzbek. I am good at math and science but I want to major in Economics. My future goal in the future is to be the President or prime minister of Kyrgyzstan. I know some people would think I am crazy but I am not I am extremly serious about it. I want to transfer to Cornell University in FALL 2011 which is also would seem crazy for some people. Even though it's nearly impossible to transfer to Cornell u from CC. But I still have some hope for it. After I will finish my graduate school I am planning to work in US federal governments or in US treasury get some experience and go back to Kyrgyzstan and use them there. I really patriotic about my country. I didnt came to United States in pursuing american dream or to have safe comfortble life here, I came here to get good education and go back to my country where I belong to.
Are there any chance that I might be accepted to Cornell University? What do I need to do in order to get in there? Please give me some ideas and advices.

Beside Economics I really interested in Politics. I took history class for 5 years back in Kyrgyzstan. I acquainted with history of every continent. I really interested about “Cold War” tension between Russian and USA. Still there are tensions between these countries. Missile shield that Bush administration is installing in Polland and Check Republic is just nonsense, while Russia invented a new type of nuclear weapon Iskander which can pass through that shield without any problem. Anyways I am really good at politics and history too.

Econ is a difficult major, you will not do so well in econ unless you are good at calculus level math. Also, sorry to burst your bubble, but you will not get a meaningful job at any federal agency as an alien. You will need a U.S. citizenship and possibly a security clearance. To transfer into Cornell, you will SAT and GPA that would have made you competitive had you applied as a freshman (even though they state that you do not need to submit SAT if coming from a CC).

Thank for reply. No I didnt had chance to apply to Cornell becouse I was late behind the deadline. But I am really enthusiastic about transfering to Cornell. So If I am transfering from CC, means that I dont need to take SAT? How maximum must be my GPA in CC?
I am really good at math. This quarter I took Precalculus and got 3.8 GPA score. and next quarter i am taking Calculus. What classes do I have to take ? What extracircular activities do I have to be involved? Do I need to be involved in sport activities?

You may wanna work moar on your English. If you write in your Cornell app in the same manner you write on this board, you will not get into Cornell. To transfer, you don’t really need ECs, just high GPA and excellent recs & essays, but having quality ECs always improves your chances. I have no idea whether you have time for sports. If you do, by all means, get involved.
