I got into CALS (incoming freshman), and am considering majoring in Comp Sci, in hopes of attending graduate school to get an MBA.

What's the level of difficulty of Comp Sci? Is it comparable to EECS? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a watered-down version of EECS, but still one of the hardest majors in L&S. They uncapped it recently though so that's good news for you.

It is basically the exact same as EECS CS option.. the only difference is you don't have to take physics 7a-7b and EE20... sure, you get graded on an easier curve for EE40, but come on... everything else is exactly the same.

You still have to struggle through 61 series.. math series... upper div CS..

Yea.. and it is nice now that they OFFICIALLY unimpacted it.

I'm pretty sure that there are quite a bit less upper division requirements for the B.A. vs. the B.S. as well.

More breadth in humanities, less breadth than techs. CS lower div courses are not graded on a curve. Beware that and love it at the same time. It's generally a lot easier than straight up EECS because you're not exposed to as many weeders and are required to take more humanities to boost your GPA.

Some upper divs are ridiculously easy. Others are not so easy. Overall, I know more people with 4.0 CS than 4.0 EECS focusing on EE.

If you're going for your MBA, pick the easy CS classes and meet minimum requirements and maybe do a double major in business.
