La Salle or Montclair?

I was just rejected from Temple, my first choice school. Another top choice, CUA, will be too expensive.
So, I’ve narrowed it down to Montclair & La Salle!

I actually got great financial aid/scholarships from La Salle. I prefer the urban location and higher rankings.

The only thing I’d prefer from Montclair is the larger size. It’s so close to home, and I really want to get away from my area!

It’s quite obvious I’d prefer La Salle! I just want to hear others’ opinion. Is it worth a few thousand more each year?

Depends what you mean by a bit…

A few thousand a year, sorry. @OnTheBubble

A few thousand is still a lot of money but overall the money is better spent at La Salle.

You should be happy there.

I think the choice is obvious. La Salle it should be.

La Salle is pretty solid and as long as you can afford it go for it.

Do you know what you are planning to study? Philly’s great, I live close to LaSalle, and although it’s not the best area, it will give you access to all it has to offer.

@newjerseygirl98 I’m sorry you didn’t get into Temple. I’ve been following your posts for the past few months.

Montclair and LaSalle are really good options. Based on the previous posts I’ve read I would assume that you are from Bergen or Passaic County (I am in Bergen). Montclair would be very very close to home and while it is over double the size of LaSalle, I think a good number of them are commuters.

If you can afford it I say go to LaSalle.

Congrats again!

I’m in Bergen too, but right next to Passaic (city and county)

I’ll need loans for both. Since its not much more, I’m choosing La Salle! @Kitzka1

Social work @LisaDilys

LaSalle is a great job. Probably better odds of graduating in 4 years, too.
But you have to get ready for college now that you know you’re going! And a good college too
Congratulations on making such a strategic list and on having such nice choices.

Congratulations! Have you visited La Salle? It’s a wonderful school with caring students and faculty. You won’t regret your decision. My son just committed at their Blue and Gold day on Saturday and it was truly a memorable experience. Best of luck to you!

I second that : go visit during an admitted student day !
After the wild ride that the past few weeks have been, treat yourself, you’ve earned it.

I agree that when you are between two schools it is helpful to go to accepted students day for both if possible. Congrats on your choices.

We’re might be able to go this Saturday! If I like it, I will deposit. If we can’t go Saturday, I’ll definitely visit this month. @Ld0115 @MYOS1634

If you prefer La Salle, it has your majors & is affordable, then I’d say La Salle.

Also, what do you mean by “few thousand”?

How much will Montclair & La Salle cost?
Is La Salle under $30K?

@ASJackson923 La Salle is $17k, I got lots of merit & aid. Montclair is $11k.

Ok then, La Salle

@newjerseygirl98 How was the visit? Did you decide?

I am visiting April 25th @Ld0115
