La Salle University or Saint Joseph's University?

Assuming both are equal price what has the better reputation in philadelphia area or nationally for finance?

We looked at both schools with my S (he didn’t end up at either one) and we were much more impressed with St. Joes. We also were not that comfortable with the section of Philadelphia that LaSalle was located in. But that is just one person’s opinion. I suggest you visit both schools, ask a lot of questions, and make your own choice.

Thanks Happy, I have visted both schools. I do agree that St. Joes campus is much nicer and safer. I will be commuting though so it isn’t too much of an issue. Mostly wondering about reputation.

I think St. Joe’s wins on reputation as well. Just my opinion. Both are fine schools.

From what I know St. Joe’s has a stronger reputation. It also has a nice campus just outside of philly.

I also vote St Joe.

In my limited experience, it is difficult for me to separate the cost. I have never seen the costs come out the same. LaSalle is very generous. The line between the two is very blurred if there is a price difference.

The price comes out the same since I’m going for grad school… and paying per credit. Even with the scholarship from LaSalle, they still end up being about the same price. SJU is 2k more end of program.

Pls Respond

Sorry, I was only considering undergrad.

You stated you would be commuting. Consider the morning/evening drive if you will be commuting by car. St Joe’s can be a real headache if you must cross the Schuylkill at rush hour. By regional rail, St Joe’s in easier to get to. If you will be attending night classes, St. Joe’s is a safer area.

If you are a full time day student, part time bar/restaurant work is easier to find near Bala Cynwyd.

Academically, if you are staying in the Philly area, both are on par and all employers will respect the name.

both are on the same level.

I think St. Joes would come out on top.

@happy1 . It depends on major.

@sciencekid28 The OP specifically stated finance. My opinion was given based on that major.
