La Sorbonne requirements - PLEASE HELP!

Alriight... I'm at my wits end. I'd be eternally grateful if you could help me.

Here's my situation (in a more or less chronological order):

I've been living in South America for the past 9 years, 7 of those have been spent in a french school.

I'm now a junior at a regular american high school.

I really, really, REALLY want to get into La Sorbonne - Paris IV to study french and comparative literature.

*Problems:

1.) Ok, so american high school diploma is not enough. Got it. American high school diploma and 2 AP courses. Since I've just been in an american high school starting this year, I was only able to have my French AP this year and then will take the Spanish AP -next- year. But I won't have the Spanish AP when I'm applying to La Sorbonne.

2.) Are those the only requirements?! High school diploma and the 2 ap courses?! I haven't found any CLEAR, concise list of conditions that will dismiss my doubts. I might be taking the DALF (even though I think that is only required from college students coming to La Sorbonne not regular students enrolling...), it looks good anyway.

Please help!! I'd be eternally grateful!

Thank you guys so very much! I really appreciate it!

I checked the Sorbonne Website and it seems like the main requirement is a high school diploma and proof of language konwledge: Site officiel de l’université Paris IV Sorbonne

As recommended on this Website (<a href="http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/services-formulaires_831/espace-etudiants_12793/etudier-france_12794/demarches-administratives_12818/ressources-ligne_27130.html)%5B/url%5D">http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/services-formulaires_831/espace-etudiants_12793/etudier-france_12794/demarches-administratives_12818/ressources-ligne_27130.html)</a>, you should contact the Cultural service of the French Embassy in your area or a centre pour les études en France to find out how to pre-register.
Another site to help you: Embassy of France in the US - Study in France

Good luck! Hope you can find your answer there.

thank you so very much for your help! :]

oh but what about the AP exam?

Hello again!
The thing about AP classes is that they don't exist in France since we take a national exam (baccalaur

hey here's a stupid question: what's the sorbonne?

afaik, didn't the sorbonne refer to the historical university of paris before it got split up? considering that there are ~15 successor universities, which one has claimed the mantle of being the 'sorbonne'? are there substantial differences of educational quality and prestige between the successors?

Paris IV is "La Sorbonne". I don't know about differences between quality and prestige but I think there are differences in the majors the Universities of Paris offer. Random examples: Paris I offers only science, Paris II offers only arts etc.

Yes, the bac can be pretty stressful but for me, it wasn't really. I took it a long time ago (back in 1983) when there were not too many subjects.
As for taking the DALF or the certificat, I think it would be a matter of what is more convenient for you (in terms of exam centers). One is not more prestigious than the other. The exam just has to be approved by the Minist

Yes, only 3 universities in Paris have the name Sorbonne:
