Hey everyone! I’m new to this site but in the few days I’ve looked at it it’s helped me so much!

I was at the LA unifieds this past weekend and Penn State is definately one of my top choices. I know in the packet of info they gave me it says that after you do your songs/monologue you may be asked to do a “callback” (aka interview). After I did my songs & my monologue he asked me to sit down & do an interview with him, he asked me about my singing training, dance experience, how I heard about Penn State, why I would want to go there, what I do in my free time besides theatre, etc. We talked for roughly 10 minutes. Was that my callback? Or is the callback something completely different? Any info anyone has on this process would be greatly appreciated, I just would sort of like to know if I’m still in the running or not because as far as I know, they didn’t annouce callbacks or put up a list or anything at the LA unifieds. Thanks!

I'm no rocket surgeon, but that sounds like a call-back/interview to me!

My D auditioned for PSU during the NYC Unifieds, and we were told that there are NO formal callbacks at the Unified auditions. Apparently, if you audition on campus, then there is a callback list posted. Those people stay and do more, and the rest leave, knowing that they are not being considered. As you auditioned at a Unified site, there were not (to my knowledge) callbacks.

My D had a similar experience as you during NY unifieds. She did her songs and monologues then had a sit down with the faculty. My guess is that conversation is as close to a formal interview as time will allow during unifieds. I'm sure you did great!

My son auditioned at LA/SF Unifieds last year and had a similar experience as you. That was his unofficial callback and he did receive an acceptance to the MT program. Good luck...sounds like it went well.

Okay thanks so much for responding! That pretty much answers my question, now I'm just hoping for the best! :)
