LA Unifieds

Well, the LA Unifieds are done. My S auditioned with 10 schools, including 2 dance calls, and along the way we met a lot of really great people, both parents and students. There sure is a lot of great talent out there. I’m excited to see where everyone ends up.

We were at LA this weekend. Did you do Rider? LA was a good experience for our daughter but she only did 4 auditions. All scheduled, no walk ins.

Yes, we did Rider. Of the 10 auditions, 8 were scheduled and 2 were walk-ins.

One of the most interesting take-aways was that his opinion of the schools has changed. His top choice school seemed aloof and unfriendly at the audition, while a couple of others that were near the bottom of the list were really friendly and accommodating.

In the end it will come down to acceptances, but it really showed the importance of actually meeting people rather than just reading brochures and websites.

This reminds me of my LA Unifieds auditions with my son two years ago. What memories… We were there for 4 days, He did 8 I think auditions in LA. I agree with impressions. Though interestingly, his first day there with two auditions gave such different impressions. He found one school so unwelcoming during his audition… another really positive after he auditioned, which is never to be believed. Oddly enough, he was admitted to both of those. One never knows. I always said though everyone thinks the auditions are the toughest, the hard part now is the waiting for acceptance/rejection stages. That is so tough. Good luck to all of you.Trust your child will land where they were meant to be…

@Tahuna It’s really best not to allow that type of thing to influence you to any great extent.
