I'm an incoming freshman as a mechanical engineering major and I'm taking 2 lab classes in chemistry and physics. I've been hearing at times that labs are easier than regular lecture classes but at other time that they are harder and require more work. What do you guys with experience think? How are lab classes usually like compared to regular lecture courses? Also, since I'm fresh out of high school, how are both lab courses and lecture classes different from high school? Thanks

Depending on your school lab classes can vary. My chemistry labs for the first year were easy and required very little work. However, they became very intensive after my first year and required full reports. Also, what they expected from me in physics and what they expected me from in chemistry was completely different. Since they are different departments you’ll find they do things completely different. I never found labs to be as hard as a class, but I learn hands on.
