<p>Hello. I am interested in entering a pre-med program once I get to college. I believe that I need some more experience before I do this. I have heard that you can volunteer at labs and do research. I have looked on the internet for programs but found none. To those of you who did or do this service, where do you start?</p>
<p>i did the NIH summers of discovery program at the NIEHS branch in North Carolina. If you google it, you should be able to find the website.</p>
<p>u find a very nice professor and ask very nicely if you could volunteer at their lab. I was lucky and researched at duke and got a paper out of it...the key is to find someone u know</p>
<p>Ask a professor at a local university if you can work in his lab. High school kids are like free labour for them.</p>
