labtop in class

Hi--Does anyone know if it is very uncommon for students to take notes in class on their labtops? I find typing MUCH easier and more efficient than hand-writing, but I don't want to be the only one...particularly when the "click-click" of the keyboard attracts unwonted attention! Would you say there is a difference in a large lecture vs. a small seminar?
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

There's normally 2 or 3 for every 50 people. It's not a big deal, but I think it's more polite to sit in the back so the screen doesn't distract people. I tried doing it in the beginning of the year, but I'm lazy and my laptop is heavy, so I switched to hand notes, heh.

Hmm....yeah i've been Laptop shopping for the past couple of weeks, mainly for the purpose of being able to bring it to class to take notes. If it's only 2-3 for every 50 people...then i might jsut go to hand notes...

dunno tho. we'll see, i still want portability in midn when i buy my laptop :D

well, dont be shy about it... i think i will be using my laptop bc i hate handwritten notes

yeah, I think I will too!! (I just hope that the sound of my typing doesn't annoy anyone in a small seminar...)

laptop*...
