LAC chances (gap year)

I hate chance me threads... but I couldn't help myself.

Definitely/probably applying: Amherst, Bard, Bennington, Bowdoin, Dartmouth, Middlebury (probably ED), Wesleyan, Williams
Maybe applying: Colby, Connecticut College, Hampshire, Harvard, Skidmore, Trinity, Wellesley

Prospective major: English, or double major in either English and theatre or English and history where available. I probably want to be a librarian, focusing in special collections or rare books.

I am a recently graduated senior who will be applying to college during my gap year. Last fall, I was accepted to the U of Rochester, BU, RPI, RIT, and WPI, and was rejected at Harvard, Yale, and Williams. I retook/am retaking my SAT subject tests, which I think were a small part of why I was rejected (I reported 580 in chem and 610 in math II, lol).

Objective:
[ul]
[]SAT I: 2270 (760 CR, 740 M, 770 W)
[]ACT: not reporting (31 composite)
[]SAT II: 790 math II, will take lit in October (predicting somewhere in the 700s)
[]Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): ~A- average, school doesn't do GPA
[]Rank: school doesn't do ranks
[]AP: chem (4), also took lit, calc BC, and stats, but waiting until the official access date on the 9th to get those scores. Predicting 5 for calc, 4 for lit, and maybe 4/5 for stats
[]IB: school doesn't do IB
[]Senior Year Course Load: (grades for the year in parentheses) Ancient Greek - restarted the programme at my school (A), Shakespeare's Henriad - trimester-long independent study (A), Logic and Set Theory - trimester elective (A), AP English Literature (A), AP Statistics (A), AP Physics - with calc, electricity and magnetism (B+), AP Calculus BC (A-). *My school reports on its school profile that "students are discouraged from taking more than two AP courses a year" and that AP courses are generally only open to juniors and seniors.
[]Major Awards: nothing that major, but: Graduated from my high school "With Distinction," semi-finalist in the Smith College Poetry Contest my junior year, Wellesley Book Award in junior year, drama award my senior year, English award my senior year

I took a gap year because when I applied to college as a senior, I thought I wanted to major in engineering or physics (my transcripts reflect those interests). Then, after I had already applied to colleges, I realised that I wanted to major in English. All but two of the schools I was accepted to were tech schools, and the two remaining just didn't suit me because of my change in interests (they were either wayyy too large for me or just generally very research focused, and I wanted something more LAC-y. So, I'm reapplying.
