Anyone accepted and thinking about going to an LAC next year? I haven't heard from most of my schools but I did get into wesleyan and kenyon and was wondering if anyone else is thinking about making the switch to a smaller school (or just an LAC in general)

I applied to a bunch of LACs:

Bowdoin - Rejected
Careleton - Rejected
Grinnell - ? (find out 5/18)
Kenyon - Accepted
Knox College - Accepted (12k)
Lawrence University - Accepted (9k)
Macalester - Accepted

I’m waiting on hearing from NU, but I’m thinking about Mac right now. I’m curious where other LAC people applied.

Middlebury - accepted
wesleyan - accepted

were we supposed to hear from bowdoin today?

^ I received my rejection from Bowdoin on Monday, May 2nd. I’m not really sure what their timeline was supposed to be on accepting students though.

interesting…did you get it online or in the mail?

amherst-rejected

slatewater, it came through the mail. To be honest it wasn’t a huge shock since their retention rate is so high.

i was rejected from midd. has anyone heard from williams? not expecting to get in there but just weirded out that i havent heard anything from them

Middlebury- rejected
Smith, MHC- rejected
Wesleyan - accepted

Westye: I’m shocked that you got into Wes but rejected from Smith and MHC. The schools must be looking for very different things. Congrats on Wes!

Any others for Williams or Swarthmore? Did anyone else notice Swarthmore’s transfer rate went from ~24% to ~7% from one year to the next?

My mom was at Swarthmore earlier today and Admissions said that they had send the letters out yesterday…which is odd since I thought we were being told on June 1st…but I guess not!

Has anyone heard from Swarthmore yet?

Accepted at Swarthmore today, Sophomore transfer. I was rejected flat-out as a freshman, so the acceptance was welcome. Look forward to seeing future Swatties soon!

anyone else thinking about going to wes next year?

To anyone who applied to Macalester:

Did your acceptance/rejection letter mention anything about the number of people who applied vs. the number of people who were accepted?

The Mac acceptance letter does not mention a specific number, but historically it’s been about 250 applicants, 45 acceptances, 15 enrollments.

@linababe - im considering wes too.

Anyone else accepted to middlebury and thinking about going?

just got waitlisted by williams. 250 applicants, 10 spots

I’m planning on going to Amherst for the fall. Definitely excited about transferring there.
