I’m looking for Liberal Arts Colleges with strong programs in music and environmental studies. Any recommendations?
Please ask this on the Music Major Forum. You have many great options. However when you say ‘music’ - do you mean the general study of music as an academic subject (theory, history, analysis, musicology), or music performance - classical, jazz, world, electroacoustic, popular, etc.? Are you looking for a certain quality of ensembles, breadth of courses, performance faculty? And what other requirements do you have for a college? Is money an issue, or location?
Yeah, but for music as both praxis and a subject of academic inquiry, Oberlin would probably be a good bet.
@International95 of course Oberlin is a good choice- but for a Double Degree with the conservatory or just a double major in the College? Very different. Until we know more about what @violingirl28 is looking for it’s hard to hone in on the right choices. And, as always, required reading is the Double Degree Dilemma pinned at the top of the Music Major Forum.
