My D is a junior and we've started visiting colleges. She's basically undecided but thinks she might be interested in Marketing. I'm having a hard time finding out who has a good Marketing Department. She loves Photography but not too many LACs offer a concentration in Photography. She really doesn't want to go to an Art school and I'm hoping she'll discover another interest while taking her core requirements. It's difficult planning college visits when I'm trying to find a LAC with marketing or communications along with photography. I'm still hoping she'll jump on Environmental Science since she does like science and the outdoors. Then, there's the whole Art Therapy option. As you can tell, it's really difficult finding a school with all these programs. What source can I look at to find who has a good programs in various disciplines? Yes, this started out as a "marketing" post. I apologize for the rambling. As you can see, my D is very much undecided but we need to find schools with her interests so they're available to her when she does decide. We don't have her PSATs back yet. Her GPA now is a 3.5 and she's on 3 varsity sports. If anyone can narrow our search, that would be great!

usnews is great to find specific schools for selected majors. Try going there.

I think she should forget about an LAC and seek a university with a diverse curriculum so she can change easily if she wishes.

Syracuse University has a good photo program, marketing, communications and one of the best environmental colleges is located on the SU campus, SUNY Coll of Env Sci and Forestry.

Northwestern might be another possibility.

RIT has a great photo school, and it has programs in marketing, communications, and environmental science.

College Board's Index of College Majors and Graduate Programs is a good book for finding colleges for particular majors. Then US News can tell you how they rank.

In addition to the previously mentioned schools, have a look at these:

Lehigh
Skidmore
Alfred

Thanks for the suggestions. There are schools here which we hadn't considered yet. We'll check those out.
