Lack of AP courses

My high school offers no AP courses. I do realize that I could take them online, but they're SO expensive.. A large family with a low income can't really afford them. Would that negatively effect my chances of acceptance, since they really look at the courses you've taken, or would they see my school doesn't offer them?

thanks :)

Don’t worry, as long as you taken the hardest your school offers, theres no regret. But then again, even if you won’t be hurt by not going beyond ur hs, taking college courses in local community colleges or online will make impress admission officers…but then again since u said u were underprivileged, even that is not necessary (so many variables lol…). So just do your best in school, and good luck!

^ second collegeftw’s statement. colleges tend to know if your school offers any AP’s. if it doesn’t, just take on the hardest honors classes (thus it will not)

just make sure you do extracurriculars that show your passion and interest. and do well on SAT’s/sustain good gpa

Do some self studying and take the AP if you’re really interested in the subject
