Lack of AP Physics

I’m thinking of applying to UBC’s applied science (engineering) program, but I lack the requisite AP Physics/2 years of physics requirement (my school has a strange policy regarding science classes and I only have 1 year of physics, 1 year bio, and 1 year chem as well as AP Chem and Ap Bio this year). Will this disqualify me? I’m from the US and have good stats (4.0, 1520 SAT).

Would I have to take the physics subject test?

My other option is just applying to the Bachelor in Sciences
Thanks

Yes, odds are, it would. There’s a reason it’s a requirement: that matches the basic premise reqs for their first year classes. (And in engineering, you can’t “wing it”).
Try to see if you can take a Physics 1 community college class this Spring and list it on your application. And yes taking the Physics subject test would be recommended.

It would not disqualify you, unless your school offered it. It is beyond your control that your school did not offer AP (or 2 years of) physics. It would be unreasonable for UBC to disqualify you based on this.
