<p>How much will it hurt me that I don't have many leadership positions in school clubs? I will have been officer of a community service club for 3 years (rising senior), but no leadership positions in SNHS or NHS. I do things outside of school like work, internships, and playing in a band, but does it look bad that I don't have that many leadership positions in school-sponsored clubs? I am in Kansas and looking to apply to Cal, UCLA, USC, NYU, and Wesleyan. Thanks!</p>
<p>I think being an officer of a community service club for 3 years is pretty impressive! You could definitely have more leadership positions, but I don’t think not having more will hurt you. As long as you have a good GPA and write great college admissions essays, then I think your extracurriculars are fine.</p>
