hi guys
in my HS only 2 general sciences are offered in gr 9 and 10 and 3 sciences are offered each year in gr 11 and 12 , they are chem, phys and bio

does it hurt my chance at stanford if i only take the 2 general science and 2 chem in gr 11 and 12? ie i'm not taking all 3 sciences in jr and sr year?

thx

bump~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What are your intended majors?

I think you are from British Columbia...

hi iAppler

I'm from toronto, ON =)
btw my name here is not my real name =P

my intended major? economics, international relatinoships, minor in math maybe?

i did take all the maths tho!

It would probably hurt you a little bit. Most students at Stanford take more than on kind of sciences in their HS year.

People are talking about combinations of occupations. This means that, for example, Computer Science now requires Biology. This combination produces a new career called Bioinformatics.

M.I.T. and many other universities now REQUIRE one year, and not limited to, of Biology, chemistry, and physics.

Most rigorous courseload possible.

iappler

so now it's mandatory to take all 3sciences for at least one year? even if you are a international student?

For some universities. If your school offers all three and you only take one... that might be a problem. It's not too late to catch up: try out the summer school. It ain't that hard.
