Son's friend is interested in schools where he can possibly walk-on the LaCrosse team. He's a sophomore, so he may get better, but says he doesn't think he'll be good enough to be recruited. He's a very good student, and will need money, although will probably qualify for a lot of financial aid. Any ideas?

Here's a list from The College Finder of schools with Lacrosse programs - Don't think it is all-inclusive but hope it helps:

ANd here are a few Collegiate Lacrosse Leagues that might be a good starting point for identifying other schools:

http://www.wcll.com/ Western Lacrosse Assoc.

Some that just won't be walk ons:
UVA, Johns Hopkins, UMCP, UNC, Gettysburg
Those are most definately teams in which you just can't walk on... UVA, JHU, UMCP, and UNC have some of the best DI teams in the nation and Gettysburg has one of the best DIII teams
Also Yale is pretty good as well as Hofstra, Cornell

Thanks! I'll give him the info and he can take it from there.

Princeton and Syracuse also have great teams, probably with little or no chance to walk on. There are also some club teams that are excellent - in some cases better than varsity teams at other schools. It will also vary a lot based on whether he is looking at Divison I, II or III schools. While of course he has time to grow physically and get better at his game, his coach should be able to give him guidance even now about what his chances may be.
