So, which Liberal Arts College are you applying to?

HMC
Reed College

Wow, that’s really cool! I looked into the place this summer but it just came off as a little too extreme for me. But, yeah, that’s pretty unique that you’re applying there. Good luck!

As for me:
Williams
Swarthmore
HMC

You’re applying to all the good warm places TippuToppy.

PD- Why is Reed ‘extreme’?

Middlebury
Vassar
and Bowdoin

Columbialove, where all are you applying?

Sidenote- Hi there Audrey! waves long time :)

Yes, I have avoided all places where it normally gets very cold including Chicago.

Reed has the reputation of being very liberal but I don’t care. I love Portland - it doesn’t get very cold. 30 minutes from Mt. Hood and Columbia gorge and 90 minutes from pacific coast.

My list is now down to 6 - 2 in Texas, 3 in California and 1 in Oregon. My safety (0UT Austin) is in the bag and I don’t have to worry about tuition :D. IB diploma holders have many options at UT Austin and similar schools which recognize IB:
a) finish in 3 years.
b) do double major with ease OR
c) take enough graduate level classes in sr. year and be better prepared for graduate school.

You avoided Chicago? I thought you favoured it. :S
Wrong deduction I guess.
Reed looks like a great school apart from PD’s post. CC’ers are recommending it to me for its warm weather and academic rigour.
The (c) option sounds good indeed!
Sigh. Six is such a nice manageable number. We internationals have no choice but to apply to more to be safe. I’m just going to recycle essays in the end.
Bdw, I heard HBS classes were extremely easy compared to those of a good rigorous undergrad. I was very surprised tbh.

PS- In fact, I secretly thought you’d even applied there EA courtesy a post I saw on the Chicago forum while browsing. And that you were just waiting for the right time to announce it, so I didn’t say anything, haha. I thought I was being such a nice thoughtful person. :p

^No New England school for you? :o

Hey AudreyH, great to see you posting here. Do you have any Indian connections? (not too many people without India connections post here you know)

^ I enjoy visiting New England area but I can not see myself living there or anywhere on east coast for 4 years or ever.

I do like UChicago a lot. It is a great school but I don’t like places that get cold.

I’m not applying to any LACs. Lol.

Tippu, UT Austin in the bag already? How? Because of that top 8% of the class thing?

Williams, Swarthmore,Amherst and Middlebury for me.

Williams, Amherst and Grinnell.

Middlebury, Wellesley, and Colgate so far.

^Possibly Swarthmore or Amherst. But definitely the above three.

Err, what does HMC stand for?

As for me,
Williams, Amherst, Reed, Vassar, Swarthmore (might), and possibly, SLC.

@Pixie,
Where all are you applying to?

^Harvey Mudd College. Its graduates have the highest average starting salary among all colleges in the USA.

I find that hard to believe. :/
