No major in CS at F&M.

============
Beginning in 1984, Franklin & Marshall made a strong commitment to the use of computers on campus. That commitment began with the introduction of two courses, and has now grown to five courses, occasional special topics courses, and regular independent studies (1987). In 1995-96 the faculty expanded to include 1-1/2 FTE instructors in computer science. Although there is no major in computer science, the minor in computer science combined with a major in mathematics, the natural sciences, economics, or business administration gives the graduate a strong start on graduate study or a career in computer science or information technology.

According to my DS, F&M will begin to offer a computer science major next year. He heard this from an admission rep that visited his school recently. They received a huge grant to fund a bioinformatics major. Computer science is a big part of bioinformatics. This is why they are adding a computer science major. They currently offer a minor in computer science.

Ah..nice to see my alma mater is now teaching students about my profession! Thanks.
