I know Mount Holyoke does, but what other LAC's are known for having a lot of international students?

Macalester College.

Middlebury has 9-10% international students and many LAC’s are more like 5-6%.

hm, i didn’t think macalester had much prestige, let alone world-wide, but i guess they do?

it’s kofi annan’s alma mater

Grinnell is supposed to have a large international population…relatively speaking of course.

Clark University

It is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the Midwest. Many students who choose a school like this understand that the quality differences are small between, say, #15 and #30 in the US News LAC rankings. If you want a LAC located not out in the boonies or suburbs, but inside the limits of a major city (>100K people), then Macalester would be one of the top few in the country according to that ranking.

Tufts is LAC-like and has a large international population.

Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin is 12% international students.

[International Resources - Lawrence University](http://www.lawrence.edu/admissions/about/international/)

Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana

I believe that Swarthmore has a good sized population

The College of the Atlantic is 13% international. I believe this is the highest among LACs, but I’ve never verified it.

Of course, it’s tiny even for a LAC. Schools like Swat undoubtedly have greater raw numbers of international students.

“it’s kofi annan’s alma mater”

haha, cool. learn some thing new every day.

u just made me feel even better about having applied there, lol.

12% of Grinnell’s population is international courtesy of their huge endowment.

Beloit College in Wisconsin. Ohio Wesleyan University. LACs that attract internationals, though perhaps not in great numbers. Very welcoming. Very good academic departments. Comfortable small town settings with major cities you can get to with a relatively reasonable car drive. Beloit is just over two hours from Chicago, I believe. OWU is about an hour from Columbus and OSU.

And that would be a good thing why? hehe!

Trinity in San Antonio. 11% international.

On COA:

I went to summer camp there for years and it does have a huge foreign population, and it has an incredibly beautiful campus and small student body. Keep in mind that the school is very liberal and is an alternative type college, etc.

Maple,

Please clarify. Which school is an alternative type college of those mentioned?
