hi,
I was wondering, (as an int'l student), what are the top 5 LACs in America ?

and how good/bad are each of them in giving fin. aid to int'l students?

I would say:
Amherst
Williams
Swarthmore
Pomona
Carleton

Those five... only with Williams above amHerst:D

Or if USNews has its way,

1 Williams College (MA)
2 Amherst College (MA)
3 Swarthmore College (PA)
4 Wellesley College (MA)
5 Carleton College (MN)

Out of the five only Williams is need-blind for intls, and Carleton does offer a good number of merit scholarships for intls.

ive never heard of some of these colleges, but thanks!

whats LAC?

liberal arts college

Booooowwwwddddooooooiiiiiinnnnnn...

Sorry, haha.

wait, are you saying bowdoin is good or bad, njpitcher?

Bowdoin sounds great... take a look at the Offer of the College on the website. How can one ask for more?

It's my ED, haha. Bowdoin all the way baby.

Second only to Williams:D

I thought Pomona was #5 on the USNews rankings. hmmm

nope, carleton was #5.

"Pomona College was ranked fifth among all liberal arts colleges in America by U.S. News & World Report" that's from Pomona's college guides page, but then their main page says they're 6th. hah

Yea, they're tied with Bowdoin in 6th. Carleton is 5.

well nonetheless all the schools mentioned are fantastic LACs

Don't be surprised if you've never heard of some. These are very small schools, but with giant reputations in the academic world. All have excellent and above average admit rates to grad schools, med school, law school etc. One girl at dd's school turned down Harvard to attend Carleton (her father is the new-ish president of Pomona.)
