ladies, will this work?

there's this girl in one of my classes that always comes in later than everyone else (about 90 students in the class). she doesn't sit next to me, but i always catch her looking at me. i'm thinking of coming in later than her one day so i can get a seat next to her and ask her how she did on the test as an icebreaker

can't really talk much since it's a lecture so i was thinking as the class drags on i hand her a piece of paper with a tic tac toe box on it. i'll put an X in one of the boxes so she doesn't mistake it as i want her number since a tic tac toe box looks exactly like this # haha

*Female opinions please!

EDIT: the reason for the tic tac toe game is because she usually looks bored in class. i've also heard "what worked in 3rd grade works in college"

… No. That is the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard.

ETA: But my roommate said she thought it was cute. She’s weird.

Using this logic you should tell her that girls are icky and have cooties.

Haha, that is kind of weird. But if a guy tried that with me, I would play along (assuming that he wasn’t trying to hit on me or anything)

Have you had an actual conversation with this girl before? And are you sure that she is staring at you?

@firehose yea you’ll prob get a playful laugh from that actually

@mushaboomblue never had an actual conversation with her haha… don’t know how to start it really

talking to random attractive girls is hard.

IMO, it sounds weird.

i’m glad i asked before attempting this haha

idk if you have the balls to do it, do it. These people saying its weird are probably the ones with no confidence. Personally, i wouldnt have the courage to do this but if you think she checks you out, def do it. If you never take chances to talk to girls, you will never get any (something I’ve learned in high school but tried to change in college)

DANGGG, sounds like someone has some pretty creative pick up skillzz! I like the idea, I’d say go for it~! I would say that the chances of success would lie entirley on HOW you go about it! I like your idea, I hope you don’t mind if I try it out sometime!

Oh, I didn’t mean to discourage you. I should have said “unique” rather than “weird” =(

You should do it . . . especially if the girl seems nice and welcoming =)

I mean, if some guy did that to me I don’t think I would feel creeped out by him. It would be pretty random, but then I would find it awesome that he had the guts to start a conversation with me in a lecture hall . . . through tic tac toe of all things!

DO IT. i respect the creativity. agree that those who hate on it dont have the balls to do it. i say go for it…what do you have to lose?

I like it! :D

Try hangman. That way you can do cutesy/funny words too. Tic tac toe is over in 10 secs.

(this is in response to your pm btw - it worked for that guy)

that tic tac toe thing seems really clever!

I agree with Alix. Hangman is the better option

Do hangman, but have the words spell out “Will you go out with me?”

If she replies by making her own hangman with three letters, you’re good. If her hangman word only has two letters . . . weeeell . . .

^It could be OK. :P

Word?

preps the “Do you like me: check yes, no or maybe” note

Awww yea. It’s about to be on like popcorn.

I’m no expert on love advice, haha, but I think asking her out might freak her out a bit. Start slow like maybe asking if she wants to hang out or something first.

For some reason I’m actually finding this kind of cute. I just hope it goes well for you =)

this could either be a huge success or a cataclysmic failure
