Lady Gaga - Alejandro

The video is like going through the career of Madonna in the 80s. From the crosses, to the supposedly gay men, and the eye piece. I’m not saying she’s copying Madonna, but some parts like the bra she had was a dead give away to Madonna’s cone bra. But, to be honest, Lady Gaga is very artistic and I love that. It’s been awhile since I seen a video that had a symbolic story.

It reminded me of Madonna’s “Vogue” (the first thing I thought of), “Express Yourself” and Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation”.

The video was too long but I watched about 3 mins of it–I stopped watching when she was only wearing her underwear and bra & tying the guy against the bed

It’s so overdramatized but I will admit that it is something new and creative! But a little too risque for me though.

Lady GaGa is um…she really knows how to get attention lol.

@Starde it definitely reminded me of Vogue and Express Yourself. The beginning did seem like Rhythm Nation.

she’s weird but her songs are catchy, and she definitely knows her music well. so in all i think she’s a great music artist who’s just…quirky.

Somebody said that she is the new David Bowie

I finished watching the video…all i can say that thank god it’s not as bad as Bad Romance (worst one, IMO). I agree w/ everyone else that aid it’s a lot simialr to Madonna’s ‘Vogue’.

I hate the cone bra…seriously…hahaha.

Pokerface has to be my favorite video though (out of all of them).

search “the vigilant citizen” on google.

he blogs the hidden meanings behind some of her music videos. not sure if he’s written one on alejandro yet though.

It was a total acid-trip, for sure. I got the feeling it was a reproof of religion as a whole (her, when she’s dressed up as the pope with upside-down crosses on her outfit, eating the rosary could be interpreted as organized religion devouring the true meaning/message of the religion as well as the spirituality behind it.) It could also be saying that, by her being gangbanged by the men with bowl-cuts, our society “rapes” the meaning of religion. Who knows though… Gaga is bat-schit crazy…

It’s only 8 minutes long … y’all act like if it was 30 minutes.

Toxic93 & Eastafrobeauty: Yeah, I knew I wasn’t the only one who thought of that. I wasn’t impressed by the video to be honest.

I’ve seen the video, it’s about 8 minutes. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on since I’ve only watched the video once but I think Gaga was murdered by Alejandro. Compare and contrast Lady Gaga definately have made better songs then her recent “Alejandro”. Maybe I have to hear it a second time which comes to no suprise since I usually have to hear a song/ music video twice to get an understanding unintentionally.

Lady Gaga is a really great artist, and her new song Alejandro had 10 million hits in three days.
So I watched the video for a second time and I still think that Alejandro murdered Gaga. I feel even more confident about my statement due to just noticing at the end a guy ( I think the character Alejandro) is holding a gun in his hand while Lady Gaga is laying down wearing all red and eyes usually described as dead.

Also possible that Lady Gaga killed herself. In the video she swallows a black necklace, same spot at the end she appears dead. Then it leaves to question why Alejandro has a gun.

Well, Gaga has explicitly said that the song “Alejandro” is about her fear of men/sex. So, I think it’s safe to say that she’s highlighting societal factors that repress people. Closeted homosexuality, religion, etc.

If there is a plot, I’d guess it’s that Gaga loves Alejandro, but he’s gay. And then once he dies/goes off to war, his lovers, her minions, turn to her? I dunno! And then she dies after never having Alejandro.

^
I don’t think he left her. Gaga states in the video how they are young and how he might love her but she can not be with him anymore, so she left Alejandro ( part could be if she committed suicuide).

So, perhaps she leaves the promiscuous Alejandro, and then longs for him once he’s dead. And all the men in the world trying to please her cannot match Alejandro.

^
That’s possible. For some reason she does not want either of the three she mentions. From my understanding she kills herself and Alejandro ( the one with the gun) was close to killing himself. It was like they both were in a love trap maybe.
